Letter: Sitting Out the Sheriff Primary
To the Editor-
I’m sitting out the County Sheriff’s race in the August 12th PARTISAN PRIMARY election. I’ll wait for the inevitable winner/write-in challenge in the November General Election.
Instead, I’m taking a GOP ballot and voting for Tony Kurtz in the 3rd Congressional District race.
Here’s why-
Tony is a veteran Army aviator and VFW Lifetime Member. He flew Cobra helicopters in Iraq, later qualifying as an Apache helicopter pilot serving in other duty stations. Tony is a farmer. He farms over 200 acres, up from an original 50, the majority of which are certified organic.
Tony is a businessman. Upon retiring from the armed services, he started Kaynick Solutions LLC; teaching military units accident investigation and safety program management.
Tony is a family man. He met his wife Kim, a nurse, who also served in the military. Along with their children, Kaylin and Nicholas, they reside in Prairie du Chien.
Lastly, Tony is a friend, whom I have gotten to know throughout his campaign. He is a man of integrity and commitment that I want representing me in Washington. He shares my priorities- a balanced budget, job growth with less red tape, deficit reduction and affordable healthcare managed by the states.
Get to know Tony yourself at www.kurtzforcongress.org or, best of all, during one of his upcoming visits to Portage County.
Join me in voting for Tony Kurtz on August 12th, and again in November.
