County to Hold Informational Meeting on Roadway

The Portage County Highway Department is hold a public informational meeting on scheduled work for CTH I Roadway Improvement Project in the Town of Sharon. The meeting will focus on preliminary design concepts for the road between County Highway Z and North Collins Lake Lane.
The project will consist of reconstructing the roadway to improve the vertical and horizontal alignment. This project is needed to improve safety by regrading the large hills to improve site vision. Ditch slopes will be upgraded to meet current design standards and the deteriorated asphalt surface will be replaced. It also includes the realignment of the horizontal curve west of Collins Park. This project is scheduled for construction in 2017 as part of the Highway Department’s 5-Year Capital Improvement Plan.
The meeting will be an open-house format from 5- 6:30 PM, with a brief presentation at 5 PM, on Monday, August 11 at the Town of Sharon Town Hall, 6704 State Hwy 66.
The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input, and ask questions concerning this project. Maps showing the proposed improvement concepts will be on display. The Portage County Highway Department and Gremmer & Associates, Inc., the project design firm, will have representatives available to discuss the project on an individual basis.
