Update: Plover Police Confirm Public Not in Danger

The Plover Police Dept. and Department of Criminal Investigation are on the scene near Highway 54 and Maple Drive in Plover after witnesses say they heard gunshots, and at least one person was seen being air-lifted for medical treatment.
The nature of the incident has not been confirmed but over a dozen police officers were visible along the roadway.
Police on the scene say access to Highway 54 will be blocked for at least another hour. DCI is in control of the scene.
The Plover Police Department did release a statement calling the incident “critical” in nature and saying residents were not in any danger.
“We ask that all residents stay away from the area of south of the Post Rd and CTH B/Plover Rd. intersection,” the statement reads. “We will keep the community updated as more information becomes available.”
