Just Kids Playing: Someone called police at 2:27 AM to report a disturbance outside their Hayes Ave. home in Plover. Police discovered the noise came from children playing outside. 

Homeless Man: Someone called police to report a transient man stationed at a traffic stop in Crossroads Commons at 5:43 AM. The man was asked to move on.

Driver Distracted by Lunch: Police warned a 63 year-old man for distracted driving at 11:37 AM near I-39 and Highway 66. The man told police he was reaching into his “lunch pail” while he was driving.

Mailbox Fatality: A 50  year-old man reported damage to his mailbox and his neighbor’s yard following an unreported incident at 6:05 PM near his Hillcrest Road home in Custer. A 21 year-old man is under suspicion for the act.

Elderly Male Driver: An 82 year-old man was reportedly “all over the road” before he was stopped by police for failure to stop at a stop sign on Harding Avenue at 9:13 PM. The man was warned for having a defective headlight and was driven home by officers.

Illegal dumping: Police cited a 25-year-old Stevens Point man with illegal dumping at 8:53 a.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of Michigan Avenue.

Violin theft: A 62-year-old Wisconsin Rapids man told police at 2:35 p.m. Wednesday that his son-in-law won’t give back a violin he rented for his granddaughter.

School graffiti: Police responded to a report of graffiti at Jefferson Elementary School at 7:53 p.m. Wednesday. Police said a marker was used in the vandalism.

Domestic disturbance: Police arrested a 25-year-old Stevens Point man on charges of disorderly conduct and domestic abuse at 8:26 p.m. Wednesday in the 1600 block of Maria Drive.

August 5

Pellet Gun Attack: Police responded to the 2900 block of Rice Street at 2:38 PM after a 67 year-old man told police someone shot his house with a pellet gun. Value of damage was not immediately known.

Go Kart Racing: Someone called sheriff’s deputies to report people driving ATV’s and go-karts on the roadway near Klondyke and Division streets in Bancroft at 10:33 PM.
