Good Shepard Lutheran Church of Plover has begun work on an expansion project which will double the church’s size.
Leaders from Plover approved the final site plan in early August for the expansion, which brings a larger gathering space, 8 classrooms, a kitchen and two additional bathrooms. The existing office, fellow-ship and classroom space will also see a facelift.
“Today, as we deal with the need for more space for classes and programs, we hope to expand to serve our members and community as a vital and faithful church,” said Ron Skrenes, a Good Shepherd member and part of the church’s capital campaign and finance committees.
Senior Pastor Al Moen said the additional space would, among other things, “welcome our neighbors” into the church.
According to Village of Plover documents, the church will add about 7,200 square feet to its existing structure and complete the project with 109 parking stalls.
Good Shepard Lutheran Church is a member of the Evangelical Church of America and located at 2000 Roosevelt Drive in Plover. All ages are welcome for services, which begin at 9 AM on Sunday and 6 PM on Mon- days through the end of August.
