Plover VFW, Legion to Hold Veteran Fundraisers

Two are military services organizations are holding fundraisers next week.
The Plover VFW Rifle Squad is holding its annual “Ready. . . Aim. . . Fire!” steak feed on Saturday, August 23rd from 4-8 PM at the post, 2970 Hickory Drive in Plover. The menu includes a 12 oz. rib eye steak prepared over a charcoal fire, fresh corn on the cob, baked potato, garden salad, dessert, milk or coffee.
Tickets for this year’s event are $16 each and available for purchase at the post. A children’s meal for ages 10 and younger is $5. All proceeds will be used to purchase equipment for the rifle squad and to support area scholarships and awards.
Another fundraiser will be held to help send wounded and disabled Wisconsin Veterans for some “R & R & R”.
The Plover American Legion will hold a brat fry fundraiser at Crossroads Commons Walmart the same day, August 23rd from 9 AM- 6 PM. Proceeds from the brat fry support Camp American Legion, a northwoods summer retreat that provides a free week of Rest, Relaxation and Recuperation to Wisconsin Veterans.
Donations of coffee, liquid hand soap, styrofoam plates and cups, paper towels and Walmart gift cards will also be collected for the camp.
