Carole Hackbarth, 76

Carole Hackbarth, of Deerbrook, died Friday, August 15, 2014 at her home under the care of her family and LeRoyer Hospice. She was 76 years old. She was born on August 7, 1938 in Antigo, a daughter of Ralph and Margaret (Bruemmer) Krall. She married Keith Hackbarth on April 16, 1958 at St. Wencel Catholic Church in Neva. He survives. 

She was a graduate of Antigo High School with the class of 1956 and attended Langlade County Normal School where she received teachers training. She completed her bachelor degree in education by taking evening classes through University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. She taught grade school at St. Mary and All Saints Catholic Grade schools for 32 years.

She cooked for Langlade County 4-H summer camps at Camp Susan with her mother and sister Jane.

Her hobbies included reading, gardening and riding motorcycle with her husband.

Survivors including her husband are two daughters Donna Hackbarth, Stevens Point, Cathy Igl, Antigo; a son, Rick (Sue) Hackbarth, Stevens Point; four grandchildren Adam (Carrie) Igl, Dana (George) Packard, Megan and Ty Hackbarth; a great-grandchild Aaron Packard; three sisters, Jane (John) Wojtasiak, Antigo, Karen Devine, Sparta, Eileen (Dave) Huppert, Port Washington; a brother Ken (Sharon) Krall, Rhinelander.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters Barb Michaud and Virginia Devine.

A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Wencel Catholic Church with Rev. Jeremiah Worman officiating. Visitation will be 5 – 7 p.m. on Monday at the Bradley Funeral Home and 9 – 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday also at the funeral home.
