Letter: Thanks to Residents for Making Farm Tech a Success
To the Editor-
Thank you Portage County!
Over the last 3 years I have had the great pleasure of working with individuals from throughout Central Wisconsin as we planned for Wisconsin Farm Technology Days in Portage County. Hosting this event is no small feat, as it is the largest agricultural show in the state and one of the largest in the nation.
Countless hours behind the scenes allowed us to welcome nearly 49, 000 people through the gates on August 12-14. This family-friendly, educational and entertaining, event welcomed people from throughout Wisconsin and the Midwest. With a little help from Mother Nature for picture perfect weather, fantastic volunteers and more than 600 vendors, it was a seamlessly coordinated event.
I would personally like to thank all the wonderful people I have met along the way and that have volunteered countless hours before, during and after the event. I would like to praise the municipalities throughout Portage County for working together to make sure that the safety and security of our visitors was never compromised. A huge thank you is in order to our wonderful co-host families and cooperating growers for interrupting their planting and harvesting schedules to accommodate the show.
Compliments have been pouring into our office and without the overwhelming community support this event could have never taken place here. This planning process has been a remarkable journey and has created friendships that’ll last a lifetime. Thank you Portage County!
