Eleanor “Literski” Volk, 91
Eleanor “Literski” Volk, born May 15, 1923 to Frank and Mary (Brilowski) Firkus, passed away peacefully at The Lodge at Whispering Pines, under Hospice care, Sunday, August 24, 2014.
Eleanor enjoyed quilting, baking, cooking, gardening, reading and being a part of the St. Maximilian’s prayer group “St. Maxie’s Angels.” She volunteered at the Holly Shoppe at the Lincoln Center. She touched many lives with her “home made” gifts and foods created with loving hands.
She is survived by her husband, Ken; children, Lucille (Larry) Moss, Rudy (Pat) Literski, Donna Eberhardt and Tom (Donna) Literski; and stepchildren, Dave (Linda) Volk, Diane (Bob) Hepner, Debie (Paul) Smith and Doreen (Del) Weed; and many grand, great, and great-great grand children and step grand children. She is further survived by her brother Alfred (Carol) Firkus and sisters, Evelyne Karch, Bernie Glodowski, and Toni Hintz; sisters-in-laws Theresa (Joe) Montgomery and Helen Firkus; and brother-in-law, Gene (Barb) Volk.
She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Terrin; sisters, Esther, Grace, and Agnes; brothers, Stanley, Ben, and Lawrence; sisters-in-law, Genevieve, Mary Catherine, and Camille; and brothers-in-law, Harvey, Ed, and Omer.
Mass of Christian Burial for Eleanor will be held on Thursday August 28, 2014 at 10:30 a.m.at St. Maxmilian Catholic Church. Rev. James Trempe will officiate.
