Village of Plover Writes a Letter to the School Board
School Board Members,
Village President Schlutter and I wish to share our thoughts with the School Board regarding Superintended Weninger and his performance during his tenure with the Steven Point Public Schools District.
As member of our community, we recognize the vital role that education plays in our community. A high quality education provides students with the tools to become active members of our community, successful employers, and our future social and business leaders. The Superintendent, Administrators, teachers and staff have performed admirably during difficult times to provide the highest quality education possible to our students.
Providing a high quality education requires strong leader- ship within the school district. It is essential that the School Board and the Superintendent provide such leadership and work together to meet the needs our educational system. Over the past four years, providing a quality education has been extremely difficult for the School Board, Superintendent, administrators, teachers and staff. State imposed spending limits, Act 10, the Great Recession, local financial difficulties, and the adversarial actions of the School Board have exacerbated this difficult times.
It is time for us to put those difficult times behind us and move to the future so we can be assured that our students will become highly values members of our community and highly sought after individuals in the work force. To accomplish this, it is critical that the Superintendent be a forward- thinking leader with a clear, obtainable, strategic objectives for our school district. It is critical that a superintendent who has the appropriate professional experience be in place to run the day-to-day operations of our School Board so that our School District can be considered a top-down district in the state and in the nation.
