Helga Obremski, age 77 of Stevens Point, passed away on August 29 at Aspirus Hospital, Wausau with her loving husband and family by her side.

Helga was born October 1, 1936 in Kaiserslautern, Germany. On October 11, 1963 Helga married her liebchen John Obremski Jr., in Germany, they then settled in to Stevens Point, Wisconsin.

Helga worked at the University Center as a cook, she enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gambling, camping and listening to polka music. She loved spending time with her family, friends and her beloved pets.

She is survived by her husband John, sister Trudy Reed (Andy), son in law Anthony Poole (Kathy), children John Obremski III (Nicole), Brenda Cartwright (Duane), Troy Obremski (Special friend Jessica Gilmeister). Grandchildren Danielle Cartwright, Alicia (Dustin) Kluck, Preston Obremski, and great grandson Aries Zoromski.

Helga will be missed, she was one of a kind. Our full of spunk fiery little German, with a heart of gold.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Patricia Poole, brother Munfred Kraus, Maria Wild-Englehardt (Heiner), and George Kraus, and her in-laws John and Frances Obremski.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday September 4, 2014, at St. Casimir Catholic Church with the Rev. Arul Joseph V. officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Visitation on Wednesday from 4:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home 703 Second Street and from 9:30 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the church. Rosary will be prayed at 7:00p.m. Wednesday at the funeralhome. Memorials in Helga’s name will be established at a later date. Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.
