Lorraine M. Groshek, 90
Lorraine M. Groshek, age 90 of Stevens Point, died Monday Sept. 1, 2014 at Sylvan Crossings Assisted Living in Stevens Point. She was born April 28, 1924 in the Town of Stockton.
She is the daughter of the late Edward & Mary (Wysocki) Groholski. Her marriage to Myron “Mike” Groshek took place on May 17, 1947 at St. Mary Mount Carmel Catholic church in Fancher, he survives. Lorraine was a life member of the American Legion Post 6 Auxiliary and of St. Anne’s Society of St. Joseph Parish.
She enjoyed knitting, watching the Milwaukee Brewers, playing bingo, attending church picnics, polka dancing & traveling. In lieu of flowers a memorial in her name will be established at a later date.
Survivors include her husband Myron “Mike”, six children: Norman (Susan) of Amherst Junction, Randel (Terrie) of Custer, Bonnie of Stevens Point, Judy (Maynard) Klosinski of Amherst, Calvin (Cindy) of Rosholt & Perry (Kathy) of Custer. Eight grandchildren: Steven, Abby, Allison, Beth, Ben, Adam, Matthew & Amy. One Great grandson: Kaden. Two sisters: Marion Makuski of Stevens Point & Millie (Bert) Glodowski of Amherst. Preceded in death by 2 brothers: Lawrence and infant Edward.
Funeral Mass 10:30 am Friday September 5, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Stevens Point. Rev. Jerzy Rebacz officiating. Burial in the Parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Thursday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home in Stevens Point and from 9:30 am until the time of services Friday morning at the church. American Legion Unit 6 Auxiliary will have a ritual at 6:15 pm Thursday and St. Anne’s society will combine with a rosary at 6:30 pm Thursday evening at the funeral home.
