NEW: Federal Appeals Court Strikes Down Gay Marriage Ban

A U.S. appeals court on Thursday ruled that gay marriage bans in Wisconsin and Indiana violate the U.S. Constitution.
The decision was unanimous by the three-judge the U.S. 7th Circuit Court of Appeals panel.
During arguments, Republican appointee Judge Richard Posner said the bans on same-sex marriage were based in hate and derived from “savage discrimination” of homosexuals. Posner even compared the law to past laws which prohibited interracial marriages.
