Layout FlagDonald W. Cline, Jr., 71, of Whiting, died Wednesday morning, Sep. 10, 2014, at home.

He was born on April 24, 1943, in Alliance, Nebraska, and grew up in the state of Oregon. On April 25, 1969, he was married to Rita Wierzba in Stevens Point.

Donald had served in the Oregon Army National Guard from 1961-1968. He went on to become an automobile mechanic and had worked at Red’s Marine and the Portage County Sheriff’s Dept. He also served as service manager at both Cooper Motors and Fox Tire. During retirement, Donald worked for Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts in Stevens Point.

He was a Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers and NASCAR fan. Before retirement, he enjoyed racing at Golden Sands Speedway.

Survivors include his wife, Rita of Whiting; daughters, Wendy (Tom “T.J.”) Stashek of Rudolph, Lori (Joseph) Lewandowski and Mary Cline both of Whiting; grandchildren, J.D. Lewandowski, Courtney (Randy) Erdman and Aaron Lewandowski; great-grandson, Wheylen Erdman; sisters, Joy Ann (John) Czudek, Jane Marie (Joe) Richards and Billie Jo (Jeff) Hughes all of Oregon; and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Raleigh and Arlene Dunbar; and his brothers, Seth and Albert.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sep. 12, 2014, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point with the Rev. Arul Joseph V. officiating. Burial will follow in Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday (today) at Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home, 703 Second St., Stevens Point, and again on Friday morning in the St. Faustina Room of the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time for Mass.
