Patricia A, Polum, age 78,of Whiting passed away Monday September 15, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. Patricia suffered from complications from ovarian cancer.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Patricia will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday September 19, 2014 at St. Stephens Catholic Church. Rev. Jerzy Rebacz will officiate. Burial will be in the Guardian Angel Cemetery.  Friends and relatives will gather to share memories from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel – Stevens Point.  A General Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM.  Visitation will also be held on Friday before the Mass at St. Stephens Catholic Church from 10:00 – 10:45 AM.  A Memorial in lieu of flowers will be established in Patricia’s name.
Patricia was born February 2, 1936 in Portage County, the daughter of Edward and Josephine (Wanta) Konkol.  She graduated from St. Josephs Academy in 1953.  Patricia married Emil Polum on September 14, 1957 at St. Stephens Catholic Church.  The couple raised 7 children.  She had an uncanny memory of history and events, including birthdays, anniversaries, and all special dates.  She enjoyed crafts, crocheting, needlework, gardening, canning, baking, but most of all she loved her family.
Patricia is survived  by her husband Emil Polum; their children, Gary (Patti) Polum, grandchildren, Matt & Kelley Polum; Jean (Terry) Sutton, grandchildren Wesley (Megan) and Mitchell; Gilbert (Marge) Polum; Christopher (Stephanie) Polum, grandchildren, Sarah, Jessica & Lindsey; Charlene Polum; Rebecca “Becky” (Ali) Afshar, grandchildren, Josey, Maggie & Josh; Todd “Toby” (Therese) Polum grandchildren, Isaac, Luke, Katie & Cecilia.
Her siblings: James & Arlene Konkol; Margaret Iwanski; Mary Jane Klement; Edward & Celia Konkol Jr; Irene Slowinski; Grace & Larry Gibbs; George & Judy Konkol.  Her in-laws: Ted Kaminski; Vince & Dorothy Polum; Victor & Terri Polum; Richard & Pat Polum; Robert & Judy Polum; Alice & Don Young; David Polum; Beverly Polum; Irene and Dennis Lepper; Pauline Polum. Supportive Family Member, Becky Moscinski and many, many Nieces & Nephews.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, Edward & Josephine Konkol; her brother, Maynard Konkol; her sister, Natalie (Barb) Kaminski; Grandchildren, Eric Polum, Emily Polum; In-laws, William Klement, Jerome Iwanski, Ben Polum, Paul and Marian Polum, Steve and Mary Jane Polum, Anton and Sophie Polum, Edward Polum.
