September 17

Crash: A 27 year-old woman was cited for inattentive driving after crashing into a car driven by a 67 year-old woman at McDill Avenue and Post Road at 11:59 AM. 

Noisy Neighbors: Police responded to a home on the 3700 block of Custer Avenue after a neighbor reported loud music coming from the residence at 2:28 PM. The house was quiet when deputies arrived.

OWI: A 52 year-old woman was arrested for her first OWI offense at 6:27 PM near Highway 66 and County Trunk A in Rosholt.

September 16

Downright Suspicious: A 46 year-old woman called police at 1:46 PM to report a suspicious black SUV outside her Florence Drive home. The woman reported when she approached the vehicle, the motorist drove away quickly.

Red Bridge Tire Slasher: A 58 year-old man reported one of his vehicle’s tires was slashed as it was parked on the Red Bridge at 3:55 PM.

Suspected Prostitution: Deputies responded to a report of possible prostitution at a residence on the 1500 block of Torun Road at 7:54 PM.

September 15

Political Sign Vandalism: A 28 year-old woman called police to report a political sign in her Jordan Road yard had been vandalized at 2:49 PM.

Mailbox Fatality: A 30 year-old man on Highway 66 reported his mailbox had been struck by a passing vehicle. No word on value of damage.

What’s That Smell? A 52 year-old man called deputies to his Tommy’s Turnpike home at 8:32 to report a “weird smell”. Upon arrival deputies could not detect any unusual odor.

September 14

OWI & Illegal Horn Blowing: Police arrested a 47 year-old man for operating while intoxicated near Main and Second streets at 2:19 AM. The man was also cited to unlawful use of his vehicle’s horn.

OWI: Several residents in a West Clark Street neighborhood called police to report an intoxicated driver at 4:38 PM. Police later arrested the suspect, a 46 year-old woman, on charges of operating while intoxicated.

Bicycle Theft: A 50 year-old man called police at 2 PM to report someone stole his bike from the 1000 block of First Street. Value of loss was not immediately reported.

September 13

Show Some Respect: Plover police responded at 8:12 AM to a report of a 36 year-old man fishing at the Korean War Memorial.

OWI: Stevens Point police arrested a 24 year-old man for operating while intoxicated at 12:54 AM near Water and Clark streets.

Property Damage: A 26 year-old woman reported to police at 9:58 AM that several items in storage had been damaged by an unknown person on the 2600 block of Dixon Street. Locks for the unit were busted and damaged items include a washer and dryer and two mountain bikes, all valued at over $1,600.

Shopko Thief: A 16 year-old boy was cited for retail theft at 1:42 PM after trying to steal two sets of headphones and one MP3 player from Shopko.

Fleet Farm Thieves: Police cited a 29 year-old man with retail theft at 5:59 PM after he tried to steal a socket wrench from Fleet Farm on Highway 10; also cited was a 26 year-old man who, separately, tried to steal a hat from the store.
