Letter: Keep Trick O’ Treat on Sunday
To the Editor-
This is in regards to Trick or Treating being on a Friday instead of a Sunday, and why they need to switch it back to Sunday.
First of all kids don’t get put of school until 3 pm, and since trick or treating starts at 4 pm some kids won’t make it home in the full experience. Also, a lot of parents don’t get off of work until well after 4 pm leaving even more kids to miss out on something they look forward to all year.
With people not getting out of work until after said trick or treating hours, along with the older people out for Friday night fish fry there will not be a lot of people handing out candy to these kids. But my biggest concern with putting Trick or Treating on a Friday night is the bars; they have their Halloween parties on Fridays and Saturdays, it is HARDLY safe for little kids to be walking around Trick or Treating with a bunch of drunk people wondering the town.
To me, and I’m sure a lot of others, that is asking for problems. Please consider this as big of a problem as I’m sure most parents as well as I do.
Please help change Trick or Treating back to Sunday for the safety and enjoyment of our children.
