Editorial: Submit Letters for Candidates in Midterm Election
By Brandi Makuski
With the 2014 Midterm Election just weeks away, now is the time to submit your open letters.
We’ve all seen plenty of opinion in the comment section of this website, as well as social media, blasting or praising area officials on a variety of topics: now we’re asking you to put your name on that opinion and share your thoughts with the entire community, just as we do with our own editorials. In this country, it’s not only permissible to question those in elected office, it’s our responsibility- and it all starts with an open letter.
Whether it’s a candidate you believe will best represent voters or a candidate you believe should not be elected, or an opinion on one of the two referendum questions we’ll decide on the November ballot, you can send your open letters to [email protected] through noon on November 2nd.
Letters can also be sent to the Stevens Point City-Times, PO Box 955, Stevens Point, 54481 and must be received no later than October 1st.
All letters must include your first and last name and city/village of residence. Letters containing offensive language will not be published.
