Community Golf Days at SentryWorld to begin October 8
For the City-Times
After nearly two years of renovations, the wait is finally over for residents of four counties in central Wisconsin—SentryWorld will open for public golf during five select Community Golf Days in October exclusive to residents of Marathon, Portage, Waupaca and Wood counties.
SentryWorld’s Community Golf Days will be held Wednesday, October 8 through Sunday, October 12, 2014. Limited tee times will be available to residents of Marathon, Portage, Waupaca or Wood counties on a first-come, first-served basis by calling the SentryWorld Pro Shop at 715-345-1600. The Pro Shop is open daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
“After working through weather-related delays and ensuring that the course received proper time to grow in, we are extremely excited to be able to extend this special invitation to the central Wisconsin community prior to the end of the 2014 season,” said Mike James, SentryWorld general manager. “The renovations have been nearly two years in the making, and the end product is stunning—the course is in incredible condition.”
The rate for SentryWorld’s Community Golf Days is $50 for nine holes or $65 for 18 holes, walk or ride. Golfers will need to provide proof of residency in one of the four eligible counties prior to starting their round. Foursomes will be filled as needed by SentryWorld staff. SentryWorld’s dress standard applies to Community Golf Days. Proper golf attire is required; no denim, cutoffs or gym shorts are allowed. Golfers can review SentryWorld’s dress standard and complete course policies on www.sentryworld.com.
“We understand that not everyone who inquires will have the chance to play SentryWorld in 2014,” added James. “We want those individuals and all other golfers outside of central Wisconsin to know that we appreciate their patience and understanding, and that SentryWorld’s course will be primed and ready for the full season in 2015. If you don’t live in one of the four counties or make it out to golf at one of our Community Golf Days in 2014, we hope SentryWorld will be first on your list for 2015. I can say with confidence it’s worth the wait.”
In addition to the golf course, SentryWorld’s Fieldhouse is nearing completion, with construction scheduled to draw to a close in early November. SentryWorld’s new restaurant, PJ’s – SentryWorld, is already open to the public, serving lunch and dinner daily. And wedding, banquet, meeting, holiday party and other event bookings are now available at SentryWorld.
