Moments after it was planted, Barb Koch of Plover stands over an Autumn Flame Maple tree dedicated to memory of her daughter, Jamie, who died in 2013.
Jamie Koch was a 1995 SPASH graduate and resident of Plover who died at the hands of an admitted killer last August.
The tree was purchased by the Class of ’95 and planted near the tennis courts in Little Plover River Park with approval from the Village of Plover. 3D Tree Transplanting LLC, owned by fellow classmate Dennis Zblewski, donated time and equipment for the task.
Class members say they plan to install a plaque under the tree next spring honoring Jamie Koch and other classmates who have passed away since graduating.
“What a beautiful tree,” said Barb Koch on Wednesday. “This is just so wonderful. I think I might cry.”
