MSTC to Host Four Preview Night Events
For the City-Times
Mid-State Technical College (MSTC) is hosting a series of Preview Night events, an opportunity to discover a variety of career programs while learning more about the many benefits of a technical college education.
Preview Night is being held at all four MSTC locations: Stevens Point Campus (1001 Centerpoint Drive), 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 27; Adams County Center (401 North Main), 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., Monday, November 3; Marshfield Campus (2600 West 5th Street), 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 10; and Wisconsin Rapids Campus (500 32nd Street North), 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 17.
Attendees will learn about MSTC associate degrees, technical diplomas and certificates; student services; the admissions process; financial resources; and student activities. After the informational session, individuals will have an opportunity to speak directly with MSTC staff to address specific questions. Attendees will also explore Career Coach, an online tool designed to help you find the MSTC program that gets you the career you want.
During the event, common questions associated with postsecondary education options will be addressed, such as why a technical college versus other higher education options, how much will it cost, and the real-world benefits of an MSTC education.
According to MSTC New Student Specialist Lana Mallek, most jobs during the next decade will require the kind of occupational training provided by Wisconsin’s technical colleges.
“Our graduates are in demand,” Mallek said. “They are health care professionals, police officers, electronics technicians, day care providers, accountants, welders, clinical research coordinators, paramedics, marketing professionals, renewable energy technicians, nurses, and much more.”
People with questions and interest in registration are encouraged to contact Mallek at 715-422-5506 or [email protected].
