City leaders on Monday will hold a special meeting of the Finance Committee to review the proposed 2015 city budget.
The public meeting begins at 6 PM in the Lincoln Center, 1519 Water Street, but attendees are being asked to use the south entrance. City Comptroller-Treasurer Corey Ladick on Sunday said the building’s main doors will be closed due to a re-tiling project on the north end of the building.
The proposed budget includes a total tax levy of $14.6 million- a 1.47 percent increase from 2014. Spending includes nearly $60,000 for updates to Willett Arena, more than $100,000 of updates to Goerke Park, $3,000 for a water slide heater, $400K for repairs to the Clark St. Bridge and North Reserve St. and almost $300K in computer equipment for the city.
The proposed budget includes using $750,000 from fund balance and about $1.74 million in borrowing for planned project.
