NEW: With Heavier State Aid in Hand, School District Taxes to Decrease
With 1/3 of the board recusing from vote, board approves 2015 budget

The Stevens Point School Board unanimously voted to approved the 2014-15 district budget on Monday, bringing down area taxes by about $50 on a $100,000 home.
While members Alex Kochanowski, Lisa Totten and Meg Erler recused themselves from the vote, the remaining six members votes in agreements on the district’s $102 million budget.
According to Business Services Director Tom Owens, the district received more than $1 million in additional state funding than during the 2012-13 school year.
