SPPD Warns Parents of Needle Found in Halloween Candy
City-Times Staff
It’s like something right out of horror movie.
Stevens Point police today announced one local family came forward early Tuesday morning to report finding a needle inside a bite-sized Snickers candy bar.
According to the news release, police say the family confirmed receiving the candy during Friday’s trick-or-treating event, but could not identify from which home they obtained the candy. The family did say they went trick-or-treating in the area of Ellis, Jefferson, Fremont and Reserve streets.
Sgt. Tony Babl said while it appears to be an isolated incident and no similar reports have been received by the department, he does ask parents to check their children’s Halloween candy as a precaution.
