Fabian “Jack” John Wysocki, Jr., 81
Fabian “Jack” John Wysocki, Jr., 81, died Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at House of the Dove in Marshfield.
Jack was born April 24, 1933 in Stevens Point to the late Fabyan and Otillia (Derezinski) Wysocki. He is preceded in death by sisters Joanne, Rosemary, Ramona, and Judith, and survived by brothers Arthur, Francis, and John. He is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews, who remember him fondly.
He grew up in, and loved, all things Stevens Point. Jack graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School. After serving in the Intelligence Corps in the US Army, he went to college at UW Madison and played trombone in the marching band for the 1953 Rose Bowl game against USC.
Jack came back home to Point where he spent most of his life engaged in a variety of pursuits: factory foreman for Lullabye; collections agent for Joerns; advertising sales rep; insurance sales; carpenter; box maker; real estate manager; school district budgeting director; inventor and entrepreneur; and import/export interests.
He was a lifelong barbershopper and was a member of the Stevens Point chapter and chorus of the Barbershop Harmony Society, and sang baritone with the Sentrymen quartet. He also sang for several years with the Phoenicians Chorus in Phoenix, Arizona. He helped build Harmony House, the home of the Stevens Point chapter, and won their Barbershopper Of The Year award in 1968 and 1990. He was always ready with a smile, a song, and a story for anyone who would listen.
Jack’s family wishes to thank the staff at Pioneer Place for the years of care and compassion they extended to Jack.
Interment and graveside services will take place at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Guardian Angel Cemetery in Stevens Point. Pisarski Funeral Homes of Stevens Point and Plover are assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.pisarskifuneralhome.com.
