Carol A. Wanserski, 70, of Stevens Point, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014, at the Portage County Health Care Center.

She was born on Dec. 5, 1943, in Stevens Point, to the late Ernest and Evelyn (Konopacki) Prodjeski and was 1961 graduate of Maria High School. On June 1, 1963, her marriage to Robert Wanserski took place at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Stevens Point. Robert died on Dec. 11, 2002.

Carol had worked in underwriting at Sentry Insurance for 35 years before her retirement. She enjoyed country music and attending local events with Jeannine Gruber; and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren.

Survivors include her son, Robert M. Wanserski of Stevens Point; daughter, Denise Wanserski of Stevens Point; grandchildren, Michael (Krystal) Clermont, Matthew Wanserski, Beau (Sheila) Wanserski, Justin (Courtney) Wanserski, Zachary Wanserski and Jordan Chojnacki; 11 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Patricia Stroik of Milwaukee.

The family thanks the staff of the Portage County Health Care Center and Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services for their care of Carol.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Carol’s name at a later date.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10, 2014, at St. Stephen Catholic Church in Stevens Point with the Rev. Dennis Stanchik officiating. Burial will follow in Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Monday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time for Mass.
