Leonard B. Gotz, 81 of Milladore, died Monday, November 17, 2014 at Edgewater Haven Nursing Home in Port Edwards.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am Friday, November 21, 2014 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Milladore with Rev John Ofori-Domah officiating. Catherine Warnecke will provide the music along with St. Wenceslaus Senior Choir. Burial will be in the church cemetery with his grandson Kevin and Roman Jakubek, Keith Kramer, Cody Sevcik, Chase and Trevor Feltz serving as pallbearers.
Visitations will be from 4pm to 8pm Thursday at the Martens/Rembs Funeral Home in Junction City and again from 10:00am until time of service Friday at the church.
Leonard was born December 5, 1932 in Marshfield, the son of Matt and Albina (Konop) Gotz. He attended Pershing Graded School in Sherry.
He was married to Clara (Kontoney) Feltz on November 20, 1971 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Torun in the Town of Dewey, Portage County.
He was called the family man because he married her with 16 children.
Leonard took over the family farm after his father passed away. Leonard sold the farm in Sherry in the spring of 1990 and moved to Milladore. He did not stay retired long and started bus driving for Lamers Bus Lines in Junction City. He finally retired in November 2009.
Leonard was not a man that liked to sit still. He enjoyed gardening, flowers, NASCAR, polka music, telling jokes, and his little Pomeranian who he named “Layla Love”.
Leonard is survived by his seven sons Martin (Margie) Feltz Jr. of Plover; Ernest (Tina) Feltz of Stevens Point; Eugene (Heidi) Feltz of Milladore; Randy Feltz of Edgar; Leonard Feltz of Marshfield; Dennis (Mary) Feltz of Auburndale and Rodney (Dawn) Feltz of Marshfield; six daughters, Clara (Stash) Feltz of Stevens Point; Patricia (Alban) Rucinski of Rudolph; Elaine (William) Kramer of Junction City; Marlene (William) Getzloff of Stevens Point; Jackie (Rick)
Sevcik of Custer and Lisa Leibl of Spencer; daughter-in-law Diane Feltz of Amherst; two sons-in- law Thomas Maslowski of Stevens Point and Patrick Mayek of Stevens Point; 68 grandchildren; 85 great grandchildren and four on the way; and 2 great great grandchildren.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Myron Feltz, two daughters Carol Maslowski and Laurie Feltz-Mayek, daughter-in-law Brenda Feltz, grandchildren Nisa and Travis Feltz, eight sisters Clara Bassuener, Anna Gonyo, Violet Bazen, Loretta Boettcher, Alice Montie, Lillian Younger, Phyllis Kroes, Delores Schultz, two brothers Sylvan Gotz and Al Younger. Eight brothers-in-law Joseph Younger, Harry Montie, Newell Gonyo, Norman Bazen,
Eugene Boettcher, Donald Bassuener, Henry Kroes, Roy Schultz.
