Join the City-Times Annual Christmas Lights Map
City-Times Staff
The Stevens Point City-Times is sponsoring its 2nd annual Lights of the Metro Area- a map of homes and businesses showcasing holiday decorations.
Each year we ask area residents and businesses to send us the address for their public Christmas decorations to include on the map, which will be available online and in print beginning December 13.
The Stevens Point Metro Area includes Stevens Point, the Village of Plover, Village of Whiting, Village of Park Ridge and Town of Hull, as well as smaller municipalities like the Town of Plover, Lanark, Dewey and Stockton, to name a few. The close proximity of our communities has a special meaning each Christmas season, when hundreds make a yearly tradition of driving their families throughout the area to view the spectacle of lights and music scenes at many area homes where holiday decor range from simple and classic to beyond ordinary.
The Lights of the Metro Area give families and motorists direction to area Christmas displays from Dec. 13-25. Displays must be easily viewable from the road, and motorists and their families should not have to leave their vehicles.
Homes with interactive lights timed to music are encouraged, provided municipal ordinances are followed with respect to noise and light density.
If you wish to be included in this year’s map, send your name, address and daytime phone number to [email protected] no later than noon on Dec. 10.
