Matthew N. Kluender, 38
Matthew N. Kluender, age 38, of Stevens Point, died December 11, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.
Matthew was born January 20, 1976 to Sharon Waldherr in Wisconsin Rapids. He grew up in Stevens Point, attended the local schools and graduated from SPASH in 1995.
He worked at the Public Library, Worzella Publishing, was a telemarketer at Figis and was currently working as a telemarketer from home.
Matthew enjoyed every aspect of life. In his free time, he spent it driving his wheel chair around town, fishing, going to Camp Wawbeek, and enjoying Polito’s pizza. He was a member of Odd Fellow and Rebekah of Stevens Point and Wisconsin Rapids and was an active volunteer at Camp Wawbeek (Easter Seals). He was recognized for his personal growth at their Difference Makers Benefit in 2014. Matthew was also the creator of the Handi – Able Project and was focused on his goal of driving his wheel chair across country.
Survivors include his mother, Sharon Waldherr (Kluender) (James Howland); brothers, Michael Rice, Jason Kluender, Dean (Melissa) Gray, Clifford (Sarah) Gray, and Charles Howland; sister, Misty Howland. He is further survived by nephews and nieces, Adam (Tiffany) Rice, Joseph Rice, Tiffany Rice, Allen Rice, Suzanne Rice, Nicholas Ashton, Michael Ashton, Austin Gray, and Brayden Gray.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather and grandmother, Arthur Sr. & Dorothy Kluender; uncles, Arthur Jr. Kluender & Leon Kluender; sister, Suzanne Kluender; and step father, James Waldherr.
A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at Boston Funeral Home with Rev. David Guerrero officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm and on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
