Jared C. West, 39, of Plover died at home surrounded by family and friends on December 15, 2014 after a courageous battle of a life long illness.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday December 18, 2014 at the Springs, Your United Methodist Community.  The Rev. Howard Hintzman and the Rev. Ann Pelot will officiate. Visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm Wednesday December  17, 2014 at the Shuda/Plover Funeral Home and again from 10:00 am until the time of service Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is established to support furthering education for Jared’s daughter, Lauren West.
Jared was born June 21, 1975 in Stevens Point to Susan (Halle) West and the late Arlyn “Butch” West.
His early days were spent helping his family on the West’s Dairy Farm which evolved into his love of working the land that inspired him to start his business, Gone West, immediately following his graduation from Ripon College where he studied history and business.
Jared was an active entrepreneur and was involved in his business up to his death.  In his spare time Jared enjoyed many activities with his daughter like roller coasters and 4 wheeling as well as hunting with her and his close friends and family.
His immediate family was small, but it was the focus of his life.  His life was a busy one and he lived what he said “Time is not something you have, it’s something you make”.
Survivors include his wife Laura, daughter Lauren, mother Susan, brother Jason (Kaye), niece Colby and nephews Michael (Sara), Jay and Andrew Wolf.
