NEW: Charewicz to Perform Last ‘Official’ Santa Escort

Portage County Sheriff John Charewicz will be escorting Santa Claus and his sleigh on Monday for the last time.
Charewicz and Santa from the Lincoln Center, 1519 Water St., at 4 PM. The journey will end at Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection, 1145 Clark Street in Downtown Stevens Point.
Charewicz announced his retirement earlier this year. Sheriff-elect Mike Lukas will be sworn into the spot in January.
