Dangerously Low Temps Coming
City Times Staff
While residents in the Metro Area woke up to about 2 inches of fresh snow, officials from the National Weather Service say the warmer temps were a ruse for what’s coming Sunday afternoon.
Bitterly cold wind chills are headed for the area late in the afternoon, prompting a wind chill warning to be announced, effective through noon on Monday.
Wind chills of 35 – 40 below zero are expected overnight and tomorrow morning. Motorists also should expect slick roads and drifting snow.
Local emergency agencies are asking residents to use extreme caution when outside, to include wearing a hat and gloves, and to travel in pairs when on foot for extra safety.
