Alex was born February 21, 1923 in Peplin, Wisconsin, the son of Alexander and Frances (Dorowa) Ambroziak. He was the seventh of eight children. He attended grade school in Peplin and farmed with his parents until entering the Army Air Corps (Air Force) in 1944. While in the Air Corps, he attended Pratt and Whitney Aircraft Service School in East Hartford, Connecticut and became an airplane mechanic. After spending time in India closing down a military base, he was discharged in 1946. He married the love of his life, Agnes Lesniak on October 12, 1946 in Knowlton.
They were married for 63 years before Agnes passed away in 2009. Together they raised a family and farmed in Junction City until 1978 when they moved to Stevens Point. While running a full-time dairy farm with Agnes and his children, he also worked at Consolidated Papers-Stevens Point Division from 1967-1982.
He will be especially remembered for his extraordinary mechanical skills, dry sense of humor and his wonderful storytelling. He enjoyed reading, listening and dancing to polka music and visiting with friends and relatives, especially his grandchildren.
