Mary C. Stanczyk, 93

Mary C. Stanczyk, age 93 of Custer, passed away Sunday morning January 4, 2015 at the Crystal River Nursing Home in Waupaca.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday January 14, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Rev. Greg Michaud will officiate. Burial will be at the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery in Polonia. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM on Wednesday until the time of service at the church. A general rosary will be prayed at 10:00 AM at the church.
Mary was born August 26, 1921, at the family’s rural Hatley farm, the daughter of the late John and Francis (Klinker) Stanczyk and graduated from grade and high school at St. Ladislaus Catholic School in Bevent. As a young lady, Mary did cooking and general house work for various people and organizations in the in the Portage and Marathon County Area, before migrating to Chicago, where she did some of the same activities. Later on, she worked for the government at the Bell and Howell Corporation, for several years. In 1940, Mary returned to this area, where she administered to the Rev. Father Joseph Schulist, a Catholic Priest, where they served in various parishes, until his death in 1982.
From 1982 to 1989, Mary assisted various Catholic parishes and church groups, helping out where ever there was a need. In 1989, Mary dedicated her life to being a sacistan, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, in Stevens Point, preparing the church for masses and doing some cooking, part time, when needed. She retired in 2011, and enjoyed keeping her home and yard in immaculate condition. Mary loved and lived in the Catholic faith, and dedicated most all of her life, administrating to it. GOD Bless her soul, for all that she has done for the Catholic Church and may He have a very special place for her in heaven.
Survivors include her two brothers, Edward (Elise), Nekoosa: Wallace (Alvina), Stevens Point: numerous nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her brothers: Stanley, Walter, Joseph, and Bernard. Sisters: Alice and Rose. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be given to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia.
