flagKenneth J. Wesely, age 77 of Plover, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, January 5, 2015.

Funeral Services for Kenneth will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday at Liberty Bible Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Pastor Bob Dow will officiate.
There is no visitation prior to services. In lieu of flowers a memorial in his name will be established at a later date.
Kenneth was born October 7, 1937 in Friendship, the son of Frank and Matilda (Chock) Wesely. As a child they moved to Wisconsin Rapids where Ken graduated from Lincoln High School in 1955. He served his country in the United States Army and the Air Force as a photographer. After his honorable discharge Ken settled in California and worked civil service jobs. He moved to WI in the early 70’s and married his soul mate, Melanie Smith on March 22, 1974 in Oak Park, IL. The couple lived in La Crosse and in Green Bay where he worked as a photojournalist for the local newspapers. He would often joke that his claim to fame was that he’d “shot” every President from Dwight D. Eisenhower to George W. Bush.
He retired after 30 years of work with the Green Bay Press Gazette and in 2005, he and Melanie moved to Plover. He was passionate about camping and fishing, visits to Door County, and spending time with his family. He was especially fond of his grandchildren and took great pleasure in teaching them the finer points of fishing. He was a man of deep faith who trusted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Kenneth is survived by his wife Melanie, Plover and 9 children: Linda (Bill) Mauer, Adams; Mike (Judy) Wesely, MT; David (Angelica) Wesely, Kewanee; Kenneth Jr (Sarah) Wesely, CO; Thearon Thurber, HI; Melanie Drake, Janesville; Christine (James) Poe, FL; Pamela (Chris) Thompson, Green Bay; Heather Schroeder, IL; 32 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; one brother, Frank (Fran) Wesely, Plover. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Robert.
