For the City Times

Have you ever wanted to travel back to the 1920’s? Are you looking for an exciting night out after all the holiday parties have come and gone? Now is your chance to check both off your bucket list! Teleport back to the Great Gatsby era and put on your feathers, fedoras, sequins and suspenders as you join us for Passport to Paradise – “Roaring into the 20’s”.

This event will take place on Friday, January 23, 2015, from 7-10:30 PM at the brand new SentryWorld in Stevens Point. For the 13th year in a row, The Boys and Girls Club of Portage County and the Stevens Point Area YMCA are joining together along with major sponsor, Sentry Insurance, and media sponsors WSAW-TV News Channel 7, Hot 96.7, Big Cheese 107.9, 103.3 WGLX Classic Rock, and Y106.5 to host this fantastic event meant for adults of all ages.

The event will include a fancy night of delicious cuisine, dancing, and live jazz music from the band Fat Brass, a Wisconsin-based jazz band.  The hors d’oeuvre-style buffet offers a diverse selection of tasty cuisine that fits the 1920’s theme. Everyone who attends will be automatically entered into a raffle to win a $500 cash prize donated by AIG and have a chance to bid on over 50 fabulous silent auction items donated by local businesses including an autographed Great Gatsby movie poster!

So arrive in your 1920’s attire or even just come dressed in business casual.  The best themed outfits of the night will be entered into a drawing for a prize.

Tickets are just $25 per person and can be purchased at the Stevens Point Area YMCA, by calling the Y at 715-342-2980, or online at http://reg.spymca.org.

Enjoy a night to benefit the youth programs of the Boys & Girls Club of Portage County and the Stevens Point Area YMCA.  It will be a night that you won’t forget.  We hope to see you there!
