Dolores “Dee” Bachinski, age 78 of Stevens Point, passed away Wednesday evening January 21, 2015 at St. Michaels Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Dee will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday January 24, 2015 at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Parish – Torun. Rev. Gregory A. Michaud will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends and relatives will gather to share memories from 4-8 PM on Friday at the Shuda Funeral Chapel – Stevens Point. A general rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM at the funeral chapel. Visitation will also be held on Saturday from 10-10:45 AM at the church.
Dee was born June 23, 1936 in Stevens Point, the daughter of Paul and Rose (Stachura) Shilka. She graduated from P.J.Jacobs High School, and began working at Pennys in downtown Stevens Point. She later worked at Sentry Insurance for 18 years. Dee married Frederick Bachinski on September 10, 1955 at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Mill Creek.
The couple settled in Stevens Point and raised their family. Dee enjoyed fishing, going to the casino, watching all types of sporting events, but most of all loved her family and all the gatherings of friends and family.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years Fred, and 4 sons: Bruce Bachinski, Stevens Point; Jeffery (Kari) Bachinski, Milton; Russ (Lois) Bachinski, Rosholt; Douglas Bachinski, Stevens Point. 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. 2 sisters: Mary (Ray) Zimmerman, DuBay and Elaine Pascavis, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, their daughter Dawn, one brother Peter, and 2 sisters: Helen and Adaline.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff on the ICU unit of St. Michaels Hospital for all the care and assistance they gave the family during Dee’s stay.
