Biddell Now in Custody

Authorities say Archie Biddell IV is back in custody.
Biddell had been declared wanted by the Portage Co. Sheriff’s Office after missing court last week for a plea hearing. The 22 year-old man of Antigo has been charged with armed robbery, battery, substantial battery, theft, felony possession of a firearm, false imprisonment and intimidation of a victim.
Biddell was arrested with two other men last September following an incident on Shannon Court in Plover when he, along with two other men, beat and robbed two people in an apartment there. According to the criminal complaint, the trio took guitars and other electronics and also demanded drugs and money.
One victim required 19 stitches to a laceration on his hand following the incident, during which Biddell threatened to kill the victims if they contacted police.
He had been released on $50,000 bail, which was revoked by Judge John Finn after Biddell missed court last week. Biddell was taken into custody when he showed up at the courthouse on Monday.
According to court documents, Biddell told Finn he did not have a driver’s license and was unable to get to the hearing.
Biddell pleaded no contest to armed robbery, substantial battery, intimidation of a victim and the firearms charge.
His plea arrangement could get him 11 years in prison and an additional 10 on extended supervision, though he faces as much at 63 years in prison if Finn rejects the deal.
