Ethel V. Hill, age 96, of Stevens Point, died peacefully on February 11, 2015, at Harmony Assisted Living Center.

Ethel was born September 16, 1918 to the late Victor & Lydia Hill in Ashland, WI. She grew up there, attended the local grade schools, and graduated from Ondossagon High School in 1936. She attended Wisconsin State Teachers College in 1940 and received her Master of Arts from Columbus University, New York in 1954.

Following her education, Ethel taught at Green Lake, Eagle River, and Ashland high schools. She later became an associate professor at UWSP, while serving as a County Home Demonstration Agent. Ethel was an Associate Professor with UWSP College of Economics for 24 years before retiring.

Ethel will be remembered for her creativity and love of music. She enjoyed traveling our nation, in addition to traveling abroad. -Visiting her relations in Finland always intrigued her. She also enjoyed water color painting. She painted Greeting Cards and Christian Tea Cards for over 30 years. Ethel was an assistant to the 4-H state club leader and was a dedicated member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her sisters, Jennie Ludwig, Signe Smith, and Shirley Berglin; 11 nieces & nephews; and 23 great nieces & nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, John; and brother-in-laws, Chester Ludwig & Lewis Smith.

A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Steven Olson presiding. Visitation will precede the funeral from 1:00 p.m. until time of the service.
