Photo of the Day: It’s All a Ruse
City-Times Staff
Puddles of melted snow and ice made an appearance Saturday morning at the intersection of Hoover Avenue and County Road HH, but the weather forecast indicated it’s a false sense of hope for those suffering the winter blahs.
After weeks of bitter cold and biting winds, Saturday’s expected high temperature of 20 degrees may feel like shorts & t-shirt weather, but the National Weather Service says it won’t last long.
Very cold wind chills are expected to return late Saturday night, with a wind chill advisory in effect on Sunday from 3- 11 AM. Temps are expected to plummet to the -30 range through Sunday afternoon.
In its wind chill advisory, the NWS says exposed skin can become frostbitten in less than 30 minutes. Be sure to wear a hat and gloves.
