Police & Sheriff Calls, Feb. 20-23
Speed & Noise: A 33 year-old man was cited for speeding and loud exhaust near Badger Ave. & Highway 10 at 1:58 AM.
Fraud: A 51 year-old man called police at 11:09 AM to report an unknown person filed taxes using his social security number.
Mailbox Fatality: A 58 year-old man called police at 7:03 PM to report damage to the mailbox of his Church St. home.
Excessive Noise: Police cited a 21 year-old man for permitting excessive noise at his Prais St. residence at 10:36 PM. A 55 year-old woman called policy to report loud music from the home.
Irritation Station: Dispatch received a complaint at 9:18 AM regarding a lengthy train at the Sherman Ave. & Water St. crossing.
Disturbance: A 52 year-old woman called deputies to report a disturbance at a Highway 66 West home involving a 54 year-old man and 29 year-old woman at 2:27 PM.
Child Abuse: A 30 year-old woman called police to report an assault against a child on Campsite Drive at 8:50 PM.
Drunk Driver: A 37 year-old woman was cited for her first offense of operating while intoxicated on Highway 54 in Plover at 12:26 AM.
Domestic Disturbance: Police responded to a Reserve St. home after a 27 year-old woman reported a 33 year-old man there was harassing her at 1:57 AM. Police were called back to the home for a second harassment complaint against the man at 8:57 AM.
Trespassing: A 45 year-old woman called police to report a 36 year-old male trespassing on her Maple Drive West property at 7:59 AM.
Gunshots: A 53 year-old man called police at 8:37 PM to report he’d heard gunshots near the 800 block of Second Street. Officers could not locate the source.
Late Night Disturbance: Police were twice called to an apartment building on the 2600 block of Indiana Avenue- once at 10:48 PM and again at 11:17 PM- after a 23 year-old woman complained that two men, 24 and 30, and a 25 year-old woman, were causing a disturbance outside of her apartment.
Who Needs a License? Police cited a 30 year-old man for operating without insurance, operating after revocation and his second offense of operating without a license during a traffic stop near Highway 66 West and Birchwood Lane at 2:35 AM.
Bar Fight: A 24 year-old woman called police at 1:57 AM to report that two 23 year-old men were fighting outside of Outfit Bar, 804 Main Street. One of the 23 year-old men was arrested for disorderly conduct and cited for resisting arrest.
A Whole Slew of Problems: A 32 year-old man was stopped at 3:24 AM near Michigan Ave. & Prais St. for his first offense of operating while intoxicated. Police also cited him for operating while revoked, unclean/defective lights/reflectors, a non-functioning plate lamp, non-registration of vehicle, display of unauthorized vehicle registration and operating without insurance.
Assault: A 25 year-old man called police at 12:34 PM to report a 25 year-old woman had assaulted him at a home on the 800 block of Main Street.
Damage to Property: A 23 year-old man was arrested on charges of domestic abuse, disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property and strangulation and suffocation following an incident at 2:03 AM on the 3000 block of Stanley Street. The man also allegedly punched a hole in a closet door at that residence, causing approximately $50 worth of damage.
