SPACS Student Among Winners in ‘Friends of Sckmeeckle’ Contest

For the City Times
Stevens Point Area Catholic Schools (SPACS) was well- represented in the Friends of Schmeeckle writing, art and photo contest, with four first-place winners.
Theresa Shulfer, a junior at Pacelli High School, won first place in the writing contest.
The contest was announced last September by Friends of Schmeeckle, which helps supports the reserve.
Contest submissions are exhibited on the group’s website.
First- and second-place winners in each category were honored in a ceremony at a Friends board meeting. First-place winners also receive a gift certificate to the Browse Shop, a gift shop in the Schmeeckle Reserve Visitor Center that features natural and cultural gift.
Submissions had to be accompanied by a 75-100 word statement describing how the entry was inspired by time spent in Schmeeckle Reserve.
