Debris Leads Police to Drunk Driving Suspect
By Lisa Pett
A Stevens Point woman is out on bail following her third drunk driving offense.
At 2:34 AM on March 16th, a witness on the 1000 block of Williams St. reported hearing a loud crash and seeing a green or blue green vehicle leaving the area. Officers responding to the scene found two parked cars that had been damaged, along with a bumper or license plate from another car.
A search of the area led police to a Church St. address and Jennifer Busa. A vehicle matching the witness’ description was parked in the driveway and was damaged on the driver’s side wheel well. There was silver paint transfer along the damaged side.
Busa, 35, appeared intoxicated and was given a field sobriety test. Her blood alcohol level registered .154.
With two prior convictions of operating while intoxicated on her record, Busa was arrested for her 3rd offense and booked into the Portage County Jail.
She appeared via video conference before Judge Thomas Flugaur and was issued a $500 cash bond and is required to abstain from alcohol, report daily for testing and to comply with pretrial supervision.
Her next appearance in Portage County Court is scheduled for March 30.
