Harboring a Felon Lands a Stevens Point Woman in Jail

Law enforcement officers serving a warrant for felony probation violations were stymied by a 20 year old woman who refused to allow officers to search for her fiance in their Soo Marie Ave. home on March 21.
Laice Firkus told officers she was prepared to go to jail for Alan Poblitz, 23, who was found later hiding in a bedroom. Firkus was arrested on charges of harboring a felon and aiding a probation violation.
Poblitz was on probation for a previous conviction in 2012 for taking a vehicle and driving it without permission and for bail jumping.
Court Commissioner David Worzella set Firkus’ signature bond at $2000 and ordered that she have no contact with Poblitz. She is due back in court on April 6.
