Dennis S. Simonis, age 92, of Rosholt passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Dennis will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 25 at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt. Burial with a military honors will be in in the parish cemetery.
Friends and relatives will gather to share memories from 4-8 PM on Friday, April 24, 2015 at Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point. The D.A.V. will hold a ritual at 6:15 PM followed by the general rosary at 6:30 PM at the funeral home.
There will also be visitation at the church Saturday from 10 AM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Adalbert Church in Dennis’s name.
Dennis was born March 2, 1923 in Rosholt, the son of Aleas and Bertha (Stanislawski) Simonis.  After graduating high school, he was a combat medic in the U.S. Army in World War II.  During the campaign for Okinawa he was wounded and subsequently earned several military awards including the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
Dennis married Florence Burant on October 4, 1947 and they spent 65 happy years together before she passed away in 2012.
Dennis graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1951 and was employed by the Borden Company for 34 years in Wisconsin, Tennessee, Pennsylvania and Ohio.
After retirement he was active in St Adalbert Church, the Rosholt Lion’s Club, American Legion and DAV. He served as district governor for the Lion’s Club. All his life he enjoyed church activities, family dancing, gardening, fishing, antiques, and playing cards.
Dennis is survived by his four sons; Karl, Lancaster PA; Dennis, Wellsboro PA; Ken (Diann), Gatlinburg, TN; Mark (Christina), Wellsboro, PA, and six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one sister, Melane Zietlow, Rosholt.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 2012, 3 brothers, 3 sisters, and 1 granddaughter.
