The Stevens Point Area Public School District has released costs related to hand-delivering meeting packets to the homes of local school board members.

Sarah O’Donnell, administrative and public relations coordinator for the district, said most board members usually pick up meeting packets from Bliss Education Services Center, 1900 Polk Street, in person. The following information was compiled between March, 2014 and March, 2015. Costs relating to former board members Jeff Presley and Alex Kochanowski are not included.

Angel Faxon: Less than five deliveries in a one year span. Faxon lives 1.62 miles from the Bliss Educational Services building. Cost per delivery is estimated to be $2.11 for vehicle costs and $8.68 overtime cost.

Christina Scott: Less than five deliveries in a one year span. Scott lives 0.65 miles from Bliss. Cost per delivery is estimated to be $1.95 for vehicle costs and $6.36 overtime cost.

Jeff Ebel: Less than five deliveries in a one year span. Ebel lives 7.12 miles from Bliss. Cost per delivery is estimated to be $9.25 for vehicle costs and $15.48 labor overtime cost.

Meg Erler: No deliveries in a one year span. Erler lives 2.37 miles from Bliss. Cost per delivery is estimated to be $3.08 for vehicle costs and $10.49 labor overtime cost.

Patricia Baker: Less than 5 deliveries in a one year span. Baker lives 2.46 miles from Bliss. Cost per delivery is estimated to be $3.20 for vehicle costs and $10.70 labor overtime cost.

Kim Shirek: Receives every board packet and committee packet hand delivered in a one year span. Shirek lives 2.09 miles from Bliss. Cost per delivery is estimated to be $2.72 for vehicle costs and $9.82 labor overtime cost.

Lisa Totten: Receives every board packet and committee packet hand delivered in a one year span. Totten lives 19.43 miles from Bliss. O’Donnell said Totten has agreed to allowing board packets be dropped off at SPASH, where her husband is a teacher, on Thursdays preceding board meetings if they are available before 3 PM. After 3 PM, Totten has them delivered to her home. Cost per delivery is estimated to be $25.26 for vehicle costs and $33.95 labor overtime cost.

O’Donnell said the district uses two different delivery vehicles- one which gets seven miles per gallon and the other gets 10- and she used $0.65 per mile rate as an average in her calculations. Overtime rates for a delivery person, excluding benefits, is approximately $30 an hour, she said.

Not including special meetings or committees, the Stevens Point School Board has two regular meetings per month. Each member has been assigned a tablet- a device similar to a laptop computer- for their work on the board.

Board members earn about $3,600 per year.
