Large Unit Self-Storage Coming To Plover
By Jacob Mathias
Plans for a large-unit self storage facility were unanimously approved by the Village of Plover Plan Commission on Monday.
The new structure, proposed by Erbes Up North LLC, will consist of a 6,120 square foot storage facility on a currently empty lot at 1421 Contractor’s Blvd. in Plover. The building will contain 15 garage-style units with 12′ x 14′ doors designed to hold motor homes, trailers, boats and construction equipment.
Owner Mark Erbes, Jr. said the units will provide for an underserved need.
“It’s set up for businesses,” Erbes said. “There’s kind of a void for that in the area.”
Erbes said the building will cost around $250,000 with hopes of completing construction in the fall season. One side of the building would get a gravel lot treatment to accommodate heavy machinery, he said.
Plover Community Development Manager Richard Holden recommended Erbes’ facility be approved with the condition no outside storage be permitted.
Erbes owns a construction company with offices in Plover and Wisconsin Rapids.
