James Albert Burns, 75
James Albert Burns, age 75, of Mosinee, WI died May 29, 2015.
James was born November 28, 1939 to the late Edward and Gertrude (Leggett) Burns in Chicago, IL. He grew up there, attended Parkside Elementary School, and graduated from Chicago Vocational High School. James attended DeVry and graduated with a degree in electronics.
He was inducted into the U.S. Navy on May 15, 1961. James served in the Naval Reserve until finishing higher education and then entered active duty. During his time of service, he earned an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. He was honorably discharged on May 14, 1967.
James married Judith E Stringer on March 20, 1965 in Chicago, IL.
After his military service, James worked as a service technician and manager for Packard Instruments. He later worked for Dexter Machines as an assembly & machine operator. James became employed with Eisele Corporation and retired from there as a sales and district manager in 2001.
James and Judy found their dream lake home, and settled in Mosinee, WI in 2002.
James will be remembered for his enjoyment of nature and family. In his spare time, he liked to fish, garden, woodworking, and took pride in operating his John Deere. James also enjoyed spending time with family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Judy Burns of Mosinee; children, Susan (Arthur) Coreth of NJ & Barbara (Jerry) Piff of Stevens Point; grandchildren, Kyle, Erika, Dylan, & Savannah; and extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and granddaughter, Tara.
A Time of Sharing Memories will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Boston Funeral Home in Stevens Point, WI. A private family burial will follow in Forest Cemetery.
