Man Facing Battery Charges for Brickhause Brawl
By Lisa Pett
A 39-year-old Plover man ended up behind bars after a brawl at the Brickhouse Tavern in the wee hours of Sunday morning on June 7.
Officers from the Stevens Point Police Department were dispatched at 2:43 AM to the bar after reports of a large group of people who refused to leave at closing time.
The officers found an employee of the bar with a bloody nose, who told officers that one of the individuals stuck him in the face hard enough to chip a tooth.
That individual was identified as Jermaine Morgan, who was still in the bar at the time.
Other witnesses also identified Morgan as the person who punched the victim and he was arrested and booked into the Portage County Jail.
Morgan appeared via video in a Portage County Courtroom on Monday, where Assistant District Attorney Cass Cousins said he anticipates filing felony battery and misdemeanor disorderly conduct charges.
Morgan was released on a $3,500 signature bond and is due back in court for an initial appearance on June 15.
