SPASH Rotary Interact Club Raises Funds for Exchange Students
For the City Times
The new INTERACT Club at the Stevens Point Area Senior High presented its president with some much-needed funds for summertime exchange students.
The students presented President Dave Marten with a check for $500- money raised during the club’s involvement at the school’s annual Cultural Festival.
According to a news release from the club, the money will be used to help exchange students defray expenses. The INTERACT Club also raised close to $600 during a garage sale earlier this spring, with another sale planned in July.
The group will help fund two exchanges this summer- one with a student from Germany and another from France.
Two local Rotary clubs- one in Stevens Point and the other spanning Portage County- host yearlong student exchanges. The INERACT Club has branches at both SPASH and Pacelli.
